They definitely call it Mexpipe for a reason. There may be bigger waves when south swells roll through the Pacific (not many). There may even be meaner waves (still, not many). But there really isn’t another wave during the Northern hemi’s summer months that hands out fast, heavy, big barrels resembling its North Shore (nick)namesake quite like those that roll through Puerto Escondido.
This week the place has been firing thanks to what’s probably become the summer’s best south to this point. The beauty of it all? Memorial Day was just a few weeks ago so (hopefully) this is just the beginning of it all. It’s going to be a good summer.
